Summertime Hop goodies

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

I had a stall at the Summertime Hop on Saturday and there were so many great stalls, mine was next to the fabulous La La Loop and new crafter on the block Samantha from Summer of Love. I managed to get quite a few wanders round the stalls throughout the day and treated myself to lots of goodies from the other stallholders. The very first thing I bought was some ethical taxidermy from Madness of Many. Good job I got in quick too as Kim quickly sold out.

On my second whizz round I bought some bow earrings and a bow brooch from The Night Owl and some earrings, clips and badges from Magic Alice.

Third trip round I drooled over Elaine Eckford’s prints and her illustrated book Olympia. I bought some cards which I might even send!

And lastly I bought yet more jewellery from Canary Yellow. Jennifer’s jewellery is both reasonably priced and amazing so I always stop by her stall at MITS events.

Folksy Friday

Inspired by Konnie Kapow I’ve decided to give this Folksy Friday lark a whirl. I’ve just finished a nice cup of tea so decided to go with tea as my theme

Jolly Joyness

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

I first saw Kyla’s work at her very first craft market – Granny Would Be Proud at The Argyll Hotel last year. I was really impressed by her illustrations and loved her use of vintage frames to display them in. I bought the two drawings pictured below and a bunch of cards and notebooks.  I didn’t see Kyla again until Made In The Shade at The Lighthouse in April and in the interim she’d got a business name – Jolly Joyness and set up an etsy shop.

I’ve bought a bunch more of her illustrations since then to put up on the walls of our new place next month. You should go check her out!
