It’s all happening this weekend
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010Me moving house isn’t the only exciting thing of note happening over the next few days. There are lots and lots of fantastic events happening for craft, fashion and design lovers. On Saturday I’ll be racing through to Edinburgh after the Glasgow Craft Mafia AGM to catch the grand opening of Hannah Zakari on Candlemaker Row. Rachael has been working her socks off to make sure the day goes with a bang and she’s lined up some fun things for the day including customisation workshops from Dazed Dorothy and Eclectic Shock .
Also happening in the capital on Saturday – The Spider and The Fly pop up gallery and shop opens it’s doors for the first time and amongst all the lovely items to buy you can have a look at the travelling CutClick Mail Art exhibition. Such and Such, a new studio/gallery on Brunswick Street in Leith are opening up to the public with an exhibition featuring work from the four founding members – Alexandra Fiddes, Caroline Cloughley, Charlotte Hannett and David Lemm. Last but not least The Made In The Shade Summertime Hop is open for business at The Roxy Art House. I’ll be making a beeline for Canary Yellow, Peggeggleg and Laura Donald. For the full line up, see the blog
In Glasgow on Saturday, there are a whole host of talented folks at The Dressing Room in Stereo from 1pm to 9pm including lovely Bonbons and Buttercream and Florence Box Jewellery . On Sunday, the fabulous Fred hosts Granny Would Be Proud at the Hillhead Book Club from 11am to 5pm.
What a weekend to support local talent and shop handmade not High Street!
